2016 PROPOSED TAX RATE PUBLIC HEARING
The
Barren County Fiscal Court
will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in the Fiscal Court Chambers, Third Floor, Barren County Government Center, 117 North Public Square, Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, for the purpose of obtaining comments from the public regarding the proposed tax rate.
The tax rate levied last year was 13.8 cents per $100 of assessed valuation and produced revenues in the amount of $2,600,593. This year’s compensating rate is 14.10 cents per $100 of assessed valuation and is calculated to produce revenues in the amount of $2,690,589. The Barren County Fiscal Court proposes a tax rate of 14.60 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, which is calculated to produce a total of $2,786,000 in revenues.
Revenue expected from new property is $15,490; revenue expected from personal property is $454,919; revenue expected from motor vehicle is $419,530; and revenue expected from watercraft is $17411.
Revenue received in excess of last year’s revenue will be used for general governmental services. The Kentucky General Assembly requires that the Barren County Fiscal Court publish this notice with the above information contained herein.
