LEGAL NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS BARREN COUNTY SCHOOLS NEW CTE & ATHLETIC FIELD REPLACEMENT - PHASE I GLASGOW, KENTUCKY The Barren County Board of Education will receive sealed bids for each Bid Package listed for the New CTE & Athletic Field Replacement - Phase I. Bids will be received at the Barren County Board of Education, 202 West Washington Street, Glasgow, KY 42141, where the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be received on or before 2:00 p.m. (local time), October 20, 2016. Copies of plans and specifications may be obtained from Lynn Imaging, 328 Old Vine Street, Lexington, KY 40507 (800/888-0693 Phone 859/252-4178 Fax and distribution@lynnimaging.com ) One (1) complete set of plans and specifications, including the Project Manual, requires a deposit of $200.00 (refundable). The plan deposit amount shall be issued on a check payable to the Barren County Board of Education.. The refundable check will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders who submit a bona fide bid and return the plans and specifications to Lynn Imaging in good condition within twenty (20) calendar days after the bids are opened; otherwise, no refund will be due. All postage and handling fees shall be submitted by separate check, in the amount of $30.00 payable to Lynn Imaging (non-refundable). An electronic copy of plans and specifications is available for a non-refundable fee of $50.00. The plan deposit of the successful bidder will be retained and contract documents need not be returned. The Form of Proposal and Proposal Envelope must be requested from the Construction Manager, Alliance Corporation, 116 E. College Street, Glasgow, KY 42141 (phone 270/651-8848, fax 270/651-2915). All bids shall be submitted only on the Form of Proposal and in the Envelope prepared by the Construction Manager. The Proposal Envelope will have the Project and respective Bid Package(s) number affixed. Alliance Corporation is the Construction Manager for this project, acting as agent for the Owner and acting in the Owner’s behalf in soliciting your proposal. Each successful Bidder shall execute a Contract directly with the Owner and not with the Construction Manager. Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cash or bidders bond, executed by the Bidder and Surety Company, IN THE SUM OF NOT LESS THAN FIVE PERCENT (5%) OF THE AMOUNT OF THE BASE PROPOSAL The bid security is required as a guarantee that if the Proposal is accepted a Contract will be immediately entered into and the performance of it properly secured. Proposal Forms must be properly filled out. No qualifying letters or statements will be considered. No bidder may withdraw a Bid submitted for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. In the event the Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded fails to execute a satisfactory Contract and Bond, he shall be eliminated and shall forfeit his certified check, cash or his Bid bond and shall be liable for the loss occasioned by the owner by such failure. Any Bid which is not received on a timely basis or in the proper form shall be returned unopened. The following Bids are requested: BID PACKAGE 010 - Demolition, Earthwork and Underground Site Utilities BID PACKAGE 030 - Concrete Foundation and Walls There are major material items within the various Bid Packages, which will be bid through the respective Contractor but purchased direct by the Owner. Interested material suppliers should contact the Construction Manager (Alliance Corporation) for the names of contractors who have expressed an interest in the Bid Packages involved.
